Advantage Technologies began trading in 1991 and was incorporated as a limited company in 1993. The structured cabling division was established in 1998 and it made us unique in that we were able to offer a full range of services to our clients.
We do not employ subcontract labour and have a very low staff turnover so the relationships we build with our clients are strong and lasting.
Health and safety is recognised as being of paramount importance and that is why a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner is employed to act as the 'competent person' in accordance with regulation 7 of The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
The company’s CSR responsibilities are taken seriously and Managing Director Simon Barnett is on the board of The Quicken Trust, one of the company’s chosen charities. As well as continuing to give our professional time free of charge, we are delighted to have donated equipment and provided support to this very worthwhile educational project in Uganda (http://www.quickentrust.com).
The company set up and sponsor an annual ‘Best ICT Student’ award scheme and a number of local schools participate. It has been very well received by the staff and pupils alike and the company plans to increase the number of schools involved in the scheme.
